Fraud and scams online

More than ever before, more and more people are falling victims to fraudulent activities on the net more than anywhere else. The reason is simple and as well complex, not too simple and not too complex, just about your position in the stand.

I say it’s simple because more people are far more into the net (internet) for a thing or the order than in the previous years. Take for instance most research done by students while studying, working on a project, trying something new are done online unlike in the 19s when the higher numbers used books relating to what they are working on. The Versatility of the internet shrieked research using books greatly.

Then it is complex in the sense that although more people are into using the net than before very few of the people are able to tell Ponzi schemes online and fraud perpetrators are not easily detected online by some kind of precautionary mentions to effect ban. Not just that, but the perpetrators cannot also be easily apprehended in real life even with their Google location turned ON. Hence falling victim to this people could be unrecoverable loss to the victim since only minimal protection are offered on a platter of gold to users of the net which hardly serve any useful protection from fraudsters.

Take a close look at the paragraph below, Its a mail, i received it from an anonymous sometime now.

Dear Friend,

I am Mr. Osman Mohammed, an auditor with one of the new generation banks in Burkina Faso , West Africa.

There was an account opened in this bank in 1998 and since 2002 nobody has operated on this account again.

After going through some old files in the records, I discovered that if I do not remit this money out urgently, this funds will go down the drains, into the hands of either the board of directors of this bank or the funds may eventually be discovered by the government as a dormant fund in the forth coming audit by the Nation’s auditors.

They will confiscate or send it into the government’s treasury account. The question now is who is the government and where is the treasury? These are human beings like you and I.

The owner of this account is Mr Hatem Kamil Abdul Fattah an Iraqi national and a miner at Kruger gold co, a geologist by profession and he died in 2003.

There is no other person who knows about this account or anything concerning it.
The account has no other beneficiary and my investigation proved to me as well that his company does not know anything about this account.

The amount involved is Ten Million, Five hundred thousand United States Dollars.($10.500.000) I am only contacting you, as a foreigner because this money cannot be approved to a local bank account here, but can only be approved to any foreign account and foreign beneficiary because the money is in US dollars and the real owner of the account is Mr. Hatem Kamil Abdul Fatah, himself a foreigner too.

I only got your contact address through the online internet search; with belief in God that you will never let me down in this business so that I will inform you the next step to take immediately.

I need your full cooperation to make this work fine because the management is ready to approve this payment to any foreigner, who has correct information of this account, which I will give to you later, if you will be able to handle such amount in strict confidence and trust according to my instructions and advice for our mutual benefit because this opportunity will never come again in our life time

With my position now in the office I can transfer this money to any foreigner’s reliable account, which you can provide with assurance that this money will be intact pending my physical arrival in your country for sharing and investment.

I will also use my position and influence to effect legal approvals for onward transfer of this money to your account with appropriate clearance documents from the ministries and foreign exchange department but, only it will cost us little money to procure such back up documents from the ministries concerned.

Your earliest response to this letter will be appreciated.I look forward to your reply.

Best Regards,
Mr. Osman Mohammed
And this one, another scam mail

These people are everywhere on the net today, so one has to be properly educated to tell scams and Ponzi schemes.

Now I will walk you down the path I thread before making an investment online to minimize loss by 90%, yes 90% no kidding.

Know Basic

When dealing with money online is only necessary you know basic. Basic knowledge of what you are investing on cannot be over emphasized, it gives you an edge to falling victim for scams. Many investing online know very little or nothing at all about an investment they are popping their money on and on that ground can easily be prey to scammers since they make judgements on investing with little knowledge and too much greed and are therefore easily lured by figures they see on screenshots.

Research in the sense of knowing more.
Always do a personal research whenever necessary not only when investing but in the case of investing do it even before reaching out to the person or company. Don’t just rely on the information they provide or what you are told on the platform else you are definitely halfway to being scammed someday because it could be all lies.
There is this particular one, a person I chatted on Twitter some years back. I think around 2018 on my then Twitter account, it was about an online investment that doubles your capital in 35 days without doing anything. I sure did my research and found nothing on Google, Bing, Yandex, Google maps, Google my business, Yelp etc. No founders, no sponsors, no company, no history, how then did it get on the Internet?
Through some underground folks I guess, that’s one big reason you can’t trust everything you see on the internet without doing your personal research.

Take your Time

If you are in a hurry to get something done, many of the time you are more likely to do things wrongly.
Don’t let anyone you meet online put you in haste with a discount offer because that’s their surest tactic to lure people in and it works wonders even in our businesses when we offer a product discount we see a boost in orders.

Yeah Think, no business is run on loss but to make profit. it’s very simple.
Think!! what do the people introducing you to the platform stand to gain, what do the owner of the platform stand to gain or he is there to just double and double your capital with nothing to gain.

Many people fall victim to fraud because they can’t see through their greed so they are usually easily intrigued to money doubling platforms while they sit behind doing nothing and still not put into consideration what the platform/online business stands to gain.
If you can’t tell what the platform stands to profit at the end of the transaction there is absolutely no need investing money for me. If you think you don’t care, you are free to go ahead.

Ask Questions

Series and series of them. Ask the company, ask people who are into online investing, ask people already doing it and then ask yourself if you still want to go ahead investing when your questions are answered.

The significance of question asking is simple
• To understand better (not everything is written on website pages)
• To know facts about what you intend on investing your savings(money) on.
• To understand the type of people you are dealing with (chatting them up could give you an idea the type of people they are, in terms of professionalism)
Lots of scam and Ponzi schemes usually fail this part. When you ask questions, logical questions in series related to the business they are suggesting you invest, they are frightened at the same time annoyed because it shows you know too much.

Wait and see(patience)

How many physical people you have benefited from it apart from the online testimonial usually displayed on their websites which are not to be taken seriously.
It’s like surveying you take your time and check well for what doesn’t feels right.
But when it passes all the test above you are then left with one.

Do you want to or don’t want to.
These one you have to deal with yourself deciding what you want.

When you all done with these process you are grinded on telling scams and Ponzi schemes.

Now invest

Invest on what you know or something you are willing to learn about a side hustle
Let’s say Blogging
Buy hosting from a hosting provider, that’s investing.
Start blogging on WordPress it takes time to recover your capital but it’s worth it. Even better than the get rich quick schemes which are mainly long term scams.

Start an online store it could just be what you need, start selling online, your skills, products and knowledge and Its very easy to set up.

Take Risks, yeah not silly ones though.
How do one expect to swim across the ocean to access a fairyland when in actual sense it’s a suicidal attempt.

People mistake millionaire’s quoting take risks for staking bets to win big, touring life threatening journeys in search of greener pastures.

The richest man in Babylon in the book said I have lost more money on bets than won. Stake betting is not an investment neither a credible way to take risks in search of Fortune.
Do you ever wonder why lotto winners usually end up with nothing after a while? They do so because they got everything the wrong way. The wrong way in terms of taking the wrong risks, they turn greedy and risks even more to get more, live extravagantly because they are not yet properly refined in the skill of making money, the skill of the rich.

Bet staking it’s definitely not what you want to do( a no go Area) to making money online less you are halfway to being scammed for real.

In Risk taking either to make money online or offline when you know what you are doing there is hardly any risks, it’s fully minimized leaving it a matter of accounting and economics on profit and loss. So whenever you hear Robert Kiyosaki, T Harv Hecker, Elon Musk, Bill Gates, Jeff Bezos or any successful person say take risks, cancel out stake betting, investing on what you don’t know, investing on get money quick platforms etc. But on side hustles, legitimate online businesses.

My Advice as a Person to you is, Start Early.
Take risks while you are young, make mistakes, bounce back up and continue because it’s the setting pace to being a millionaire at 40 or even earlier so you don’t want to believe that adage that says life begins at 40.
If life really behind at 40. 40 years in the womb won’t be that bad, but since you are here healthy, young and strong you have to learn how to take responsibility for yourself.
Study, learn and grow.
